
Today, along with the beginning of World Immunization Week, is World Meningitis Day. Meningitis is the inflammation of the tissues surrounding the brain and spinal cord. Symptoms are often confused with the flu, so it is important to be vaccinated against this potentially deadly disease. All 11-12 year olds should be vaccinated followed by a booster shot at age 16.
