The Paper Kingdom – Videogame Teaches Kids About Clinical Trials

The Paper Kingdom is a videogame that educates kids about clinical trials.  The National Institutes of Health, along with the New England Research Institutes, developed the game to dispel myths and address concerns about children and research.  In the Paper Kingdom, where everything is made out of paper, players will face challenges and meet characters in the jungle, desert, ice, forest, and robot worlds on the way to the final volcano.  Each world presents a fear that kids may have about joining a clinical trial.  Some of these topics include the ability to say “no”, peer or parental pressure, and confidentiality.  Conquering these fears exposes a “revealed truth” that disproves each research myth.

The Paper Kingdom is rated “E” for everyone and is intended for kids age 8 to 14 years old.  Click here to download the game for free.
