
Half of the United States is seeing widespread seasonal flu activity, according to the CDC. The most prevalent type of influenza seen so far has been the H1N1 virus, the same strain seen in the 2009 worldwide pandemic. Flu season typically peaks in January or February and can continue into Spring. Utah has already seen a high level of flu-like illnesses and has reported 2 deaths from influenza so far this season. It isn’t too late to get a flu shot. We can still enroll kids 6 months to 8 years in a flu vaccine research study. Please contact us if you would like your child to participate.
We also are enrolling for kid and adult flu treatment studies. Please contact us within 36 hours from the onset of flu symptoms if you are interested in participating.
