The FDA has approved Sanofi Pasteur’s Fluzone Quadrivalent vaccine. The new flu vaccine is licensed for use in children six months of age and older, adolescents, and adults. This will be the first year that a four-strain vaccine will be available, which includes two A strains and two B strains. Every two to four years epidemics of influenza B occur, causing up to 44% of flu-related deaths in children under the age of 18. Read the full press release here
J. Lewis Research was one of the sites working on the clinical trial for Fluzone Quadrivalent. We would like to thank the research participants who helped make this vaccine available for the general public.
