Today is World Meningitis Day, created to raise awareness about the disease and the vaccines that can help prevent it. Meningitis is the inflammation of the tissues that surround the brain and spinal cord, and is potentially life-threatening. Symptoms often appear flu-like in the beginning and rapid treatment is necessary at their onset.
We have two meningitis B vaccine studies currently open:
- Meningitis B vaccine for young people ages 10-25
- Meningitis B vaccine for children ages 10-12
The Meningitis Foundation of America and the CDC have additional information about this disease. You can also view our previous post about Meningitis.
