Janet is the founder of J. Lewis Reserach, Inc. In 1989 she began working as a coordinator for a small start-up company conducting clinical trials for the pharmaceutical industry. She became a shareholder in the business and manager of the Utah operations, which grew from two employees at one site to over 30 employees at five sites. In 2000 Janet, along with a small group of managers and employees, started J. Lewis Research, Inc. from the Utah branch of the company. Janet has been responsible for marketing the company’s services to the pharmaceutical industry.

Under Janet’s direction and management, J. Lewis Research, Inc. successfully completed over 800 studies in a variety of medical areas. The company has also completed over 20 FDA audits and over 125 sponsor audits, all for high enrollment.

Janet has been a speaker at MAGI’s Clinical Research Conferences and ACRP’s Global Conferences, where she won an ACRP 2012 Top Speaker Award for her presentation “WHAT TO EXPECT, WHAT TO DO AND WHAT NOT TO DO. HOW TO MAKE FDA INSPECTIONS AS PAINLESS AS POSSIBLE. A SITE’S PERSPECTIVE.” Janet was also very excited to speak at the 2015 ACRP Global Conference since it was in Salt Lake City and we got to show off our beautiful city!

Janet acts as a consultant to sponsors on protocol design and recruitment strategies.  She is a consultant to sites on patient recruitment, audits and other various topics.  Janet has now been hired as a consultant for J. Lewis Research, Inc. to assist in the transition of the company to new owners.

Janet began working in clinical research in 1989. She enjoyed the opportunity of teaching patients about their health. She has been involved in the approval process of many new medications and vaccines. She believes she works with some of the best Principal Investigators in the U.S. They are very knowledgeable and experienced and the relationship she has with them and patients is very rewarding.

Janet is committed to research. She believes that without it we would not have many of the medications and vaccines that are currently available today. She believes that research helps patients, who may not usually see a physician, receive treatment that otherwise they would be unable to receive or afford. She believes that her staff and investigators give quality care, which leads to patient’s continued participation in studies of new medicines and vaccines. Janet has patients who were enrolled in research studies as children who now enroll their own children into studies because of the positive experience they had.

With a background in ballet, Janet loves to dance (all kinds) and especially enjoys ballroom dancing. “We live in a beautiful state that has great hiking and snowshoeing,“ which she loves to do with her husband and dog.
